In the year since Google rolled out its Panda update, demand for online content translation has skyrocketed, increasing several hundred percent

NICOSIA, Cyprus, Aug. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Since  Panda appeared on the scene a year ago,  global demand for foreign-language translations of online content has seen a growth of several hundred percent.

One hour Translation reports that thousands of webpages and online articles have been translated in the last year, thanks to Panda's integration.

 

One Hour Translation  offers one explanation for the increased demand for translation of online content; Panda gives preference to sites with original and quality content in its search results, and also  favors sites  in which users spend  more time reading featured content.

 

Additionally, Google now puts greater emphasis on location-based search. This means that a search term will yield different results based on where the user is.

Additionally, user-generated content has been elevated in the new system, meaning that if your site attracts user comments, Google uses that as indication that your site is relevant. Indeed, according to company data, the greatest growth in demand for online content translation has come from SEO companies, which have been responsible for more than half of the growth of website content translation.

 

According to the company's VP of Marketing, "these companies grasp the importance of interesting and original content, and they translate content to different languages in order to get better rankings in each relevant country."

 

The second largest demand for online content translation originates from Hi-Tech companies. Third in line are media and advertising companies, and finally trade and manufacturing.
