Why One Hour Translation?
One Hour Translation has a simple straight forward approach to professional translation.

How much money can I earn?
Successful sales professionals can make over $50,000 a year. Most Small-Medium Business customers spend $5,000 to $10,000 a year with us. This means an annual commission of $250 - $500 for every business customer you bring.
Customers are easy to recruit as most businesses need translation and our service is better, cheaper and faster than the alternatives. Get 15 such customers a month and make $45,000 to $90,000 a year.

What is the deal?
The deal is simple, sales people make 5% of every customer transaction during a year since the customer registered with us. There is no limit to how much you can earn, the more the customer buys the more you earn. You can collect your cash twice a month ($20 minimum balance required).

What happens a year after a customer I brought joined One Hour Translation?
The commission on customer transactions is paid for one year from the customer's first transaction. After one year No commission is paid for the customer.

How much time do I need to invest?
The position is on a freelance basis, thus it is up to you to decide how much time to invest. We expect sales people we work with to invest at least 1/3 of the standard work time.

Are there other payments in addition commission per transaction on a freelance basis?
Right now there are no payments other the above mentioned commission. In the future we may add special bonuses to top sales reps.

How do I apply?
To apply for joining our freelance sales force simply Register, you will need to upload your CV and LinkedIn/ Photo ID card, sign NDA, pass exam etc. Once you register a representative will contact you to complete the process.

What is the difference between being an One Hour Translation freelance sales person and an One Hour Translation affiliate?
Affiliates get lower commission and are using online marketing techniques to promote the service. Sales Representatives are calling on customers directly.

I got a customer to use One Hour Translation but he did not use my sale-rep link, how am I credited for this customer?
Inform us via email and if this customer is not already linked to someone else we will give you the credit for this customer.

Selling and Marketing of the service

Do you provide training materials?
We provide training material and answers to common customers' questions. Please make sure you read at Least this FAQ as well as the Customer FAQ (under HELP). The service is relatively straight forward; it is easy to understand how it works and what it does.

What approach is used to promote the service?
Sales people use advertising, social media (LinkedIn), blogs etc. as well as cold calling in order to generate leads. It is typically very easy to get a customer who uses translation services today to try our service. Most customers keep using the service after they tried it. There are currently no limitations on advertising as long as it is ethical and legal.

How can One Hour Translation guarantee quality?
One Hour Translation invests a lot of efforts in screening the translators that join our community and in monitoring the quality of their work on a regular basis after each and every translation job. In addition, using our quality verification technology we can detect and deal with potential translation quality issues in time. What if the customer is not satisfied?
Customers can contact us directly (or the contact us via the representative) we have a 100%, no questions asked money back guarantee.

What is the difference between One Hour Translation and Google Translate, Yahoo Babel Fish or other automatic translation services? Or why can�t a customer just use Google translation for free?
One Hour Translation is using professional human translators ONLY. Machine translation like Google Translate may be useful for general understanding but are very far from providing proper translation that can be used in business. You may check the quality of machine translation yourself by translating some text to some foreign language and back to the original language.

Price and payments

Why does a customer have to pay before he receives the translation?
The way our system works, customers buy word credits which they can use for translations whenever they want. Credits never expire and can always be converted back to cash.
This system allows us to pay the translators right after the translation is accepted and it also allows us to keep fixed low prices.

Can a customer be charged by invoice?
Big customers may pay for very large orders based on invoice. Please contact us for details.

What are credits?
The payment method used in the site is based on Credit points. Each credit is worth $0.01. You can buy word credits and use them later for translation. Credits never expire and are always convertible back to cash.

When do I get paid?
We pay Sales Reps twice a month on the 1st and the 15th.

How do I get paid?
You need to have $20 minimum balance in your account and you MUST click Request to Convert in the Control Panel. Without clicking Request to Convert our automatic system will NOT issue your payment!

What is the One Hour Translation MasterCard Debit/ ATM card?
One Hour Translation with MasterCard and Payoneer issued a special One Hour Translation MasterCard ATM/Debit card. The card functions just like cash. Sales representatives can order the card by mail.
Every time you click Request to Convert the balance is transferred from your One Hour Translation account directly into the card. The card can be used in any ATM to withdraw cash and in any Point of Sale as long as they accept MasterCard.

Why do I need an additional MasterCard?
Your standard credit card cannot accept cash (unless it is a refund) the One Hour Translation MasterCard can accept cash as well as pay cash.

Should I press Request to Convert or just send an invoice?
You Must press Request to Convert to get paid! Sending an invoice is NOT enough. Clicking Request to Convert informs our automatic system it should wire your money.

I sent an invoice but did not get paid, what happened?
See above answer, you must click Request to Covet to get paid.

Are payments in US Dollars only?
Right now the payments are in US Dollars directly to the One Hour Translation MasterCard Debit/ ATM card that can be used in any Point of Sale or ATM that accepts MasterCard. Meaning if you withdraw cash with the card from an ATM in Japan it will be converted automatically to the local currency.

Translators

Who can become a translator?
Translator undergo a lengthy screening process in order to be allowed to translate on the site. After they are certified translators we keep following them after almost every translation. Only good translators can pass the initial screening and keep up with the on-going examination of their work. Translators that do not meet our standards are removed from the site immediately and for good.

Does One Hour Translation use only human translators?
YES! We only allow professional human translators.

Where are the translators based?
The translators are based all over the world as they are native speakers of the language they translate to, i.e. most English to Japanese translators will live in Japan and so forth.

Does One Hour Translation use native-speaking translators?
YES! One Hour Translation uses native speaking professional translators that translate for a living and have the proper experience and background.

Can a customer pick specific translators he liked and work only with them?
Yes. If a customer is satisfied with a translator he can indicate that in an email to us or in the feedback/ rating field and we will allocate this translator to the customer either exclusively or with high-priority.
